As a result of the Green Revolution and the introduction of chemical fertilizers, synthetic herbicides and pesticides, high-yield crops, and the method of multiple cropping, the agricultural industry was able to produce much larger quantities of food. This increase in productivity made it possible to feed the growing human population.

Answer:

The role of Green Revolution to increase the fertility of a farm land:

A. Chemical fertilisers: Use of fertilisers and pesticides was started due to which production on the "same piece of land" has increased by two to three times.

B. Irrigation: New irrigation techniques were employed which again increased the production of crops and hence the fertility of soil improved.

C. HYV seeds and multiple cropping: High yielding variety of seeds was used. These are scientifically designed seeds. "Multiple cropping" is known as cultivating on the same field repeatedly without leaving it empty by growing two or more crops.
