Answer:Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the tallest leader of Indian freedom struggle, and Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, one of the architects of Indian Constitution, were locked into a bitter conflict over the formula to remove untouchability from Hinduism for over a better part of their lives. Gandhi was for appealing to the conscience of caste Hindus to give up untouchability voluntarily while Ambedkar argued that 'destruction of the caste' would mean a notional change and not the destruction of the physical barrier. The former believed Chaturvarna contributed to the Hindu society in a positive way and used inter-dining and later inter-caste marriages to bring the untouchables into the mainstream while the latter opined that breakup of the caste system would come about through destruction of religious notions on which caste was founded and not inter-dining and inter-caste marriages. The study would employ empirical and quantitative approach to find out where the new generation stands. The researcher would disseminate questionnaire to a sample youth to elicit their responses. To the best of researcher's knowledge, it would be an original research. For the study, Annihilation of Caste, the undelivered speech of Ambedkar, and Gandhi's The Story of My Experiments with the Truth would be taken as base referents.
