Raja Ram Mohan Roy: In 1830 he founded The brahmo Samaj. it's out to preach monotheism, improve the position of women in Society and lybrate Society from Idol worship, rituals, caste system and superstitious practices. he led a campaign against the practice of Sati through his journal Sambad community and convinced people that the cruel practice of Sati was not permitted by the shastras. his tireless campaign eventually led to the abolition of Sati.

Ishwar Chandra VidyaSagar : Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was a noted education education is and one of the foremost social reformers of the 19th century.he played an important role in the first Hindu widow remarriage that took place in Calcutta in 1856. along with Bethune, he opened the first girls school in Calcutta in 1849. he also set up the 35 schools in Bengal between 1857 and 1858.
