Raja Ram Mohan Roy: In 1830 he founded The brahmo Samaj. it's out to preach monotheism, improve the position of women in Society and lybrate Society from Idol worship, rituals, caste system and superstitious practices. he led a campaign against the practice of Sati through his journal Sambad community and convinced people that the cruel practice of Sati was not permitted by the shastras. his tireless campaign eventually led to the abolition of Sati.
