• Dalits make use of the full array of political weapons  available to them to achieve it, that is political activitiy is essential  to the struggle for Dalits' liberation.
• The main thrust in Dalits' participation is how far they have  assumed the role of citizens beyond their traditional roles and to  what extent such a role has been legitimized to the political  structure.
• Participation of the Dalits in politics is so much important that social movements .
• Dalit movements for Dalits'  rights started with a demand for equality in caste based structure.
