human will live by eating food which gives energy means food is playing a vital role in the humans, animals, birds etc the things which living such as biotic and abiotic soecies need food (which give energy to them) as you all know that Indian farmers grow food grains, vegetables etc as the backbot of India.

Indian government purchase the goods from them and keeps in government storeroom like food and security department which they store sell the fresh food items throughout India for a particular price for consumer s and sell less price to retailers to sell those goods (compared to consumers the prices are less those are for sale not for personal purpose)
