HEY MATE HERE IS YOUR ANSWER:

The swallow was about to leave for Egypt but seeing the sadness of THE HAPPY PRINCE he stopped to help him. The happy prince was very sad to see the detrimental condition of his city so he requested the swallow to help him to help the poor and needy People. So with the help of the swallow he helped the seamstress by giving her the ruby from his sword hilt. He helped the playwright and the match girl by giving his eyes which was made up of sapphires. He helped the poor children by giving his gold leaf. This was the role of the swallow in THE HAPPY PRINCE.

SWALLOW VERY IMPORTANT IN THE WHOLE STORY. HE ACTED AS THE AGENT OF THE KIND ACTS DID BY KING. SOME OF THE KIND ACT TO WHICH SWALLOW PLAYED THE ROLE ARE FIRSTLY WHEN KING ORDERED SWALLOW TO TAKE RUBY TO THE WOMEN WHOSE CHILD WAS ILL SO HE ACTED AS INSTRUCTED BY THE PRINCE. HE ALSO GAVE THE SAPPHIRES TO TWO PERSONS WHO WERE IN THE NEED OF THAT THERE ARE NANY MORE GREAT ROLE PLAYED BY THE SWALLOW WHICH SHOWED HIS KINDNESS .HE LAID DOWN HISCLIFE FOR THE NOBLE CAUSE.AT THE END HE DIED BECAUSE OF THE COLD BUT HIS NOBLE ROLE MAKES HIS NAME IMMORTAL.
