The role of women in Vietnam was subject to many changes throughout the history of Vietnam. They have taken on varying roles in society, including warriors, nurses, mothers and wives. There have been many advances in women's rights in Vietnam, such as an increase in women representation in government, as well as the creation of the Vietnam Women's Union in 1930.

In 1960s, women of Vietnam represented as warriors as well as workers. There significant role can be explained in the following ways:-
1) Large number of women join the army and fought bravely against the American Troops. They even succeeded in shooting down war planes. whether young or old , they selflessly worked and fought to save their motherland.
2) As call casualties in the war interest in 1960s women were urged to join the struggle in the large numbers.
3) Women were portrayed as young, brave and dedicated. Stories we are written in to describe them as they soldier.
4) Women helped in nurising wounded constructing underground room and tunnels and worked as porters in Ho Chi Minh trail.
5) There were 1.5 million women in the regular army , the militia , the local forces and professional teams.
