Answer:

After NCM , there was constructive work was going. Gandhiji always want to take masses along with him. He always tries to bring people together . Gandhiji was about to start Civil Disobedience movement in 1922 only but 5 feb charachar happened and NCM had taken back. After that, gandhiji was working for people and it was the right time to start CDM and he want to start any movement taur bring all the society together like common man( by breaking salt kanoon by which they can make salt for their own use), women, religious( because salt was used in many religious activities) and to create jobs to local workers as independent. So , to bring masses together it was the basic and needy thing that can be used as a weapon that's why gandhiji choose it

Explanation:

Salt march was an effective symbol of resistance against colonialism because:-

(1) All classes could identify with salt as it was a cheap and essential food item.

(2) Tax on salt and the monopoly over it's manufacturing was a sign of the oppression of British rule.

(3) It would affect the British economy.

Gandhi ji reached Dandi on 12th March,1930 and violated salt law by manufacturing salt from sea water. Breaking the salt law was an apparent defiance of British authority and was a direct challenge to British rule in India. It had a far reaching repercussion on the whole structure of colonialism.
