The passing through of water in ships or by some other means is called internal navigation.

The portion of Internal navigation in India by carrying is of 1%.

In India, there are thousands of passable waterways such as rivers, canals and narrow gulfs.

Of that, only some of the areas are now used for passage of water.

Roughly around 1.8lakh materials are transported through this internal navigation.

In order to give more importance to Internal navigation, the government has announced four waterways.

2. Up to 891km, from Sadiya to Dhubri in river Brahmaputra
