                  DEEDS ABOVE GREEDS

Anya was a simple girl with no extraordinary demands but an extraordinary talent, she studied in 9th class, had average grades. Anya used to paint whenever she got the chance and this was her talent, nobody knew about it until one day a drawing competition was arranged during a free period in her class, that was the day that changed everything around Anya.

While everyone was busy thinking about what to paint, she had started making circles here and there to which her classmates poked and laughed a lot. But she did not give up and by the ending of the period, she finished her painting which had now turned into a beautiful solar system painting. The painting was so good that it was appreciated by all the teachers and even her classmates that had laughed at her earlier did apologize and appreciate her work.

This appreciation went long till few days and since then Anya had gained a lot of confidence in herself and decided not to sketch at the back of her notebook like always because that would be an insult to her other beautiful paintings. The confidence took place as overconfidence.

Soon the cultural week came and all the teachers suggested her name for the drawing competition, and she was selected. At home, she refused to practice saying that she was too good and did not need to waste colors on the paper making rubbish things.

When the day came and the competition started, everyone took their colors and started to paint but this time it was her who lost time thinking about what to draw. The time passed and she was backened from everyone. Though she ultimately painted something beautiful but wasn't able to complete it on time and that is why she got eliminated.

This shows how a satire on human vanity and the folly of greed and ambition takes over even your best talents.
