the revolt of 1857 was an extremely important event in Indian history it is also known as the first war of independence because it was against britishers.it was caused by the rumour spreading that the new cartridges made for Indian soldiers what prepared from cow and pig fat. The spark between Indian sports led the revolt. The revolt was started first in meerut and then spread to Delhi, Agra, kanpur and Lucknow.
