as the society was divided into three estates I.e.,first estate(bishops / clergies ) ; second estate ( nobles ) and the third estate ( commoners ). The first and the second estate were enjoying special previliges whereas the commoners were crushed under the heavy burden of taxes.so people were really fed up with such a rotten political system
