Whereas, in urban communities, well-educated and wealthy individuals regard girls equally and make provision of equal rights and opportunities to them as the male children. In the issues concerning girl children, all the factors have been identified, in terms of which they are experiencing problems. It is vital to formulate measures that would eliminate practices, such as, female foeticide, female infanticide, child marriage, malnutrition, exploitation, child trafficking, neglect and discrimination, child mortality and child abuse. In addition, opportunities need to be promoted to facilitate education and employment opportunities among them.
