In the novel, "David Copperfield" Dickens criticizes Britain of the 19th century. He portray the clash of the social, political and economic classes. He shows how his character, David had to suffer injustice and inequality as he belonged to the weak and lower class of the society.
Dickens compared the attitude of Mr.Murdstone and Mr.Peggotty.Mr. Murdstone being rich and authoritative does not treat David well. However, Mr.Peggotty being poor and unauthoritative is nice and kind towards David.
David struggles through the economic system as he is always unable to receive equal economic standing as compared to the authoritative class.
