Although the Title character of the short story "salvatore" doesn't experience the life he expects for himself, he ends up making the most of it turns out that the whole point of telling Salvatore's story was to see if the Narrator could hold the reader's attention simply by relating a tale of goodness.
in this way, W. somerest Maugham presents the story as sort of moral lesson rather than a plot dealing with conflict and a character who undergoes change.
