There are three levels of the panchayati raj system:-
•GRAM PANCHAYAT:- Every village is divided into wards i.e small areas . Each ward elects a representative called the ward Member (panch) . The gram Sabha also elects a sarpanch who is the panchayat president. The panchs and sarpanch form the Gram Panchayat.
• BLOCK SAMITI OR PANCHAYAT SAMITI:- It is the one of the levels which is the block level called Janpad Samiti or block Samiti has many Gram Panchayat under it.
•ZILA PARISHAD:-above the panchayat Samiti is the zila parishad or District Panchayat . The zila parishad actually makes plans at the district level.
