Toxic effects of SO₂ are as follows:

1) High concentration of sulfur dioxide(SO₂) will cause lung disease.

2) Decrease tracheal mucus clearance

3) Reduced pulmonary function.

4) Lower concentration of sulfur dioxide(SO₂) also causes pneumonia.

5) Burning of nose and throat and breathing difficulties.

Toxic effects of SO₃ are as follows:

sulfur trioxide(SO₃) reacts with water and forms sulfuric acid immediately.

H₂O + SO₃ --------> H₂SO₄

1) Breathing of acid can cause prolong cancer.

2) sulfur trioxide(SO₃) also causes tooth erosion and respiratory problems.
