The various forms that the Non-Cooperation Movement took in different parts of India are discussed below: (i)In Kheda, Gujarat, Patidar peasants were worried about the high land revenue demand of the British. (ii)In coastal Andhra and interior Tamil Nadu, liquor shops were picketed.

The Non-Cooperation Movement remained non-violent at most of the places. But some people interpreted the message of Mahatma Gandhi in their own ways; mostly to suit their local grievances. The Khilafat-Non-Cooperation Movement gave enormous support in Sind and Bengal.

1. The Movement took a violent turn by 1922. Thus could be taken as an advantages by the British to unleash massive attack on the Indian people.

2. At Chauri Chaura the police on 5 february 1923, the police opened up a fire on a peaceful procession if 3000 peasants at Chauri Chaura in Uttar Pradesh. The crowd became angry and set fire on the police station while the policemen were inside. 22 policemen were killed.

The common people understood Gandhi as Gandhi felt that The people neede to be properly trained about the principles so they would be ready for the mass movement.
