1) Immediate cause: Immediate cause means the primary reason behind the development of disease.
2) Contributory cause: Contributory causes are the sources through which infectious agents like viruses or bacteria enter our body or which help these microorganisms to enter our body and other conditons behind the development of the disease.
For example: Eating unhealthy food, consumption of contaminated food or water cause disease.Thus unhealthy food, contaminated food or water are the contributory causes whereas bacteria present in it that contaminated food and water is immediate cause.
