Ways to prevent Air borne diseases :-

  • Avoid close contact with people who have active symptoms of disease.
  • Stay home when you’re sick. Don’t let vulnerable people come in close contact with you.
  • If you must be around others, wear a face mask to prevent spreading or breathing in germs.
  • Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze. Use a tissue or your elbow to cut down on the possibility of transmitting germs on your hands.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly (at least 20 seconds) and often, especially after sneezing or coughing.
  • Avoid touching your face or other people with unwashed hands.

ways to prevent Water borne diseases :-

  • Drink only filtered/boiled water.
  • Store water in a clean container,
  • Water jars/containers should be washed daily.
  • Always wash hands before and after preparing food or eating, likewise, children should be taught on hand washing.
  • It is mandatory to wash hands with soaps or hand sanitisers after using washroom, changing your child's diaper.

ways to prevent vector borne diseases :-

  • Ensure your vaccinations are up to date for diseases prevalent in the area.
  • Wear light-coloured, long-sleeved shirts and long trousers, tucked into socks or boots.
  • use insect repellent on exposed skin and clothing to protect yourself from being bitten by mosquitoes, sandflies or ticks.
