The main aim of his life was to encourage 'Widow Remarriage'
He was one of the most prominent social reformer of his time.
The first widow remarriage of India' was held in Bengal after the influential speech of Iswar Chandra. As usual society endeavour to stop this but they didn't succeeded and Iswara Chandra Vidyasagar personally attended the marriage.
