According to Tuener, after Mukanda, boys become purified members of male community, now able to participate in ritual and political affairs of the society.
Before mukanda, the boys were effiminised due to closeness with their mother.
But after the ritual, they come under control of their father.
In other words, mukanda brings changes to how a boy, his father and his mother are related to each other.
