There are two types of storage device.

• Primary Memory: - It enables the computer to boot and also perform the read/write task.

1. ROM: - The basic I/O system are stored in ROM at the time of manufacturing is called as BIOS setup. It enables the computer to boot without it computer will not start.
2. RAM: - It is also called main memory. It performs the read/write task. It is also temporary memory that stores the data for temporary storage.

• Secondary Memory: - It is used for permanent storage of data.
