If the leaves of a money plant are coated with oil, then stomata present on the surface of the leaf will get blocked. Transpiration which takes place through stomata would be affected adversely. ... So the plant will eventually die because the plant will not respire it self..... Therefore the plant will have full chance of death....

Gaseous exchange also takes place through stomata. So, if stomata are blocked, gaseous exchange would be affected which would decrease photosynthesis. So the plant will eventually die.
