Answer:

Well I decided to answer this question because I travel everyday to my work using public transport.

There are many problems to face when you are dependant on public transport. The following list gives you an idea of problems to face when you use bus as a mode of transport.

Bus stops are not located near you. One has to walk longer to catch bus, to change bus and after you reach your stop till your destination.

Busses doesn't have proper schedule and you'll have to wait for long hours sometimes. If you want to start your trip at some particular time you need to be minimum 15 minutes early.

You don't get a seat to sit and bus will be overloaded so that it's not even easy to stand. Some times I travel 2hours standing in the bus.

Traffic is also a big problem since it's not same everyday and cannot be predicted which is both time killing and increasing your stress. It almost takes 3hours to travel 40 kms.

Nuisance in the bus by passengers like speaking loud, playing loud music etc..

There are few seats reserved to ladies, physically challenged and elderly people. People are supposed to allow them those seats but in actual people don't allow those seats until they demand for it and have a fight to exercise their rights.

There is neither good linkage between different means of public transport say , busses, trains and metros nor there is any kind of transport to all places, one has to either walk or catch an auto to change their mode of transport.

Public busses don't have any privilege over others and all other vehicles overtake you and cross the signals before you. Mentioning this because public busses can have some separate lanes as it is there in Pune Special lane for PMPML buses at Pune station - The Times of India

Lots of stops in a journey; if your journey is 20 kms there will be more than 20 stops.

Change issue : you need to tender exact change to get tickets if, not you can either be dropped off the bus or some times promised to get the change at your stop which u can either forget to collect or sometimes not be given due to non availability of change with the conductor. Transport services should understand that a working person can't draw change from ATM.
