The battle of Plassey was between Siraj Ud Daulah who was, the last independent Nawab of Bengal, and the forces of the British East India Company.

Prior to the Battle of Plassey, the following are the pre war negotiations:

a. The British founds ways to assure the security of the throne of the Nawab in the British occupancy. 

b. The Nawab assumed that the British did not own the authority to establish trading posts in India. And

c. The Nawab were not willing to give the authority rights to the British.
