\boxed{\rm\pink{ How \: do \: they \: enter \: the \: body?}}

Pathogens enter the body of the host through :

  • Eyes
  • Nose
  • Mouth
  • Genital openings
  • Skin pores
  • Droplets released when coughing or sneezing in some cases.

\boxed{\rm\pink{ How \: do \: they \: affect \: the\: body \: of \: host?}}

Note that only some times pathogens cause diseases ; i.e when harmful microbes such as viruses or bacteria enter the body of the host. When the pathogens enter into the body of the host ; they start multiplying rapidly and start attacking on the immune system of the host. Then the WBCs or the leukocytes start trying to protect the body by killing the pathogens but if it has already been too late ; we get sick .

Based on thier cell structure and nutrition they are further divided into 6 types :

  1. Viruses
  2. Bacterias
  3. Proteins
  4. Fungi
  5. Parasites
  6. Protozoa

\boxed{\rm\pink{ Examples :-}}

  • Influenza (virus)
  • Anthrax ( bacteria)
  • vCJD (proteins)
  • Torula ( fungi)
  • Ringworm (parasite)
  • Malaria (protozoa)
