                           DISEASES IN CATTLE

  • Anthrax - This disease is caused by relatively large spore forming rectangular bacteria called bacillus anthracis .The bacteria produces extremely potent toxins which are responsible for the ill effects.
  • Foot and mouth disease -  This disease is highly communicable and affects cloven-footed animals.It is characterized by fever, formation of vesicles and blisters in the mouth,skin between the toes and above the hoofs.
  • Rinderpest - Its the most destructive of the viral diseases in cloven footed animals.The virus is found notable in the saliva,discharge from eyes and nostrils,and the urine and faeces .  
  • Mastitis - Its the inflammation in the mammary grand,the most common and expensive disease of diary cattle throughout most of  the world. Infection by invading bacteria, fungi,viruses are the primary cause of mastitis.
  • Ringworm - It is the most infectious skin disease in beef cattle . it is caused by fungi,and is transmissible to man.Typically the disease will appears crusty grey patches usually in the region of head and neck.
