⦿ Vectors : Vectors are those organism which carry germs from a source of infection but themselves do not get the infection. For examples, Mosquitoes while feeding on the blood of a malaria patient, gain the germs in their bodies and get them transfered in the blood stream of a healthy person whom they bite.
Houseflies carry germs from garbage or sewage and deposit them on food. A person will get the disease if he eats such contaminated Food.
⦿ Diseases caused by Vectors.
→ Malaria : It is caused by a protozoan plasmodium which enters the human body through the bite of a female Anopheles Mosquito. It shows the symptoms of chills and intermittent high fever. Protection of Malaria can be done by protection against mosquito bites and taking antimalarials drugs.
→ Dengue : It is a mosquito borne disease caused by the dengue virus. It is spread by a mosquito called Aedes aegypti. symptoms typically begin 3 to 14 days after infection. This may include high fever, headache, muscle and joint pains, and characteristics skin rashes. In extreme cases it can lead to excessive bleeding and death.
Dengue can be prevented by the use of mosquito repellents and ensuring that there is no stagnant water to act as breeding ground in or around homes.

It is caused by the action of some Harmful Bacterias, parasites. These infections are caused by contaminated food and water which contains a part of feces.
● Prevention of Dysentery.
→ Avoid drinking and eating contaminated water and food, Drink only purified water.
→ Maintain a proper hygiene i.e Wash your hands after Excretion as well as before ingestion.
→ Wash vegetables and Fruits properly before eating them.
