Plastids are usually double membrane bound organelles found in plants such as algae. Chloroplasts are the most known and play a role in photosynthesis. They are made of thylakoids in which photosynthesis occurs. Chromoplasts on the other hand help in storage of pigments in plants and are found in aging plants. Leucoplasts have no pigments and are not colored they play a role in storage of starch lipids and proteins
