initial time = 20 min. = 1/3 hr

distance of her school = speed×time = 12×1/3 = 4 km.

if she wants to reach school in 15 min. or 1/4hr than she will have to be in speed =

distance / time = 4/1/4 = 16

2.  15 men repair the road in 24 days=15*24.

9 men repair the road =15*24/9

40 days

3. In 15 days number of goats can graze= 30

In 1 day number of goats can graze= 30×15=450

In 10 days number of goats can graze= 450/10= 45

45 goats will graze ....

4. Let work to be done be x

Time taken by 420 persons to complete the work. x= 9 months

x= 420×9 = 3780

People required to complete the work in 9 months= x÷7= 3780÷ 7

3780÷7 = 540

Therefore, the contractor had to employ 540 people more to complete the job.
