Given :-

Disha is a cashier in a bank. She has currency notes of denominations Rs 100, Rs 50 and Rs 10, respectively. The ratio of the number of these notes is 2:3:5. The total cash with Disha is Rs 8,00,000.

To Find :-

How many notes of each denomination does she have?

Solution :-

Let the ratio be 2x,3x and 5x

Amount of Rs. 100 = 2x × 100 = 200x

Amount of Rs. 50 = 3x × 50 = 150x

Amount of Rs. 10 = 5x × 10 = 50x

Now

200x + 150x + 50 = 800000

400x = 800000

x = 800000/400

x = 8000/4

x = 2000

Rs. 100 note = 2x = 4000

Rs. 50 note = 3x = 6000

Rs. 10 note = 5x = 10000

Answer -

  • Number of Rs 100 notes = 4000.
  • Number of Rs 50 notes = 6000.
  • Number of Rs 10 notes = 10000.

Given -

  • Disha is a cashier in a bank.

  • She has currency of notes of denominations of Rs 100, Rs 50 and Rs 10 respectively.

  • The ratio of the number of these notes is 2 : 3 : 5.

To find -

  • The number of notes of each denominations Disha has.

Step-by-step explanation -

As the ratio of the number of these notes is 2 : 3 : 5,

Let :-

  • The number of Rs 100 notes be :- 2x × 100 = "200x".

  • The number of Rs 50 notes be :- 3x × 50 = "150x".

  • The number of Rs 10 notes be :- 5x × 10 = "50x".

Given that :-

  • The total cash with Disha is Rs 8,00,000.

Therefore,

\longrightarrow \sf200x + 150x + 50x = 800000

\longrightarrow \sf400x = 800000

\longrightarrow \sf x =   \cancel{\dfrac{800000}{400}}

\longrightarrow \sf x = Rs \: 2000

 \\

  • The value of x is Rs 2000.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Therefore,

 \\

Rs 100 notes :

  \hookrightarrow\bf2x = 2 \times 2000 = 4000.

 \\

Rs 50 notes :

 \hookrightarrow \bf3x = 3 \times 2000 =  6000.

 \\

Rs 10 notes :

 \hookrightarrow \bf5x = 5 \times 2000 = 10000.
