Because displacement has both magnitude and direction while distance has only magnitude .therefore, ae we move from our home to the shop and then back to home,displacement zero while distance is not zero.the distance can be zero only if the object remains at rest

Displacement can be zero but distance can't. why?

{\tt{\blue{\bold{\huge{Answer}}}}}

Displacement can be zero but distance can't be zero because displacement has both magnitude and direction while distance has only magnitude. Therefore, if we move from point A to point B and then back to point A,displacement became zero while distance is not zero. The distance can be zero only if the object remains at rest.
