\huge\textbf{Displacement Reaction :-}

= In which more reactive element displaces less reactive element from it's compound. Such types of reaction is known as Displacement Reaction.

i.e.

AB + C ----› AC + B

Ex :- 2Al (s) + 3CuCl2 (aq) ----› 2AlCl3 (aq) + 3Cu (s)
----------------------------------------------------------------

According to Reactivity Series i.e.

K = Potassium (Most reactive)

Na = Sodium

Ca = Calcium

Mg = Magnesium

Al = Aluminum

Zn = Zinc

Fe = Iron

Pb = Lead

H = Hydrogen

Cu = Copper

Ag = Silver

Au = Gold (Least Reactive)

We can say that Aluminum is more reactive than Copper as reactivity decreases down the group. So, that why it displaces Copper from Copper Chloride and then combine with Aluminum to form Aluminum Chloride.
