Disposal of plastic is a major problem. Why?

Plastics are not bio degradable. They will be in the landfills forever never breaking down into useful product. The only true method is to recycle the product so that it may be cut up and used in the manufacturing of another finished product. Outdoor decks and walkways are now using boards made from such plastics. They do not warp nor are they effected by the weather to any great degree.

because it takes almost 1000 years for plastic to get decomposed into the soil and hence it piles up together and creats a problem of disposal
