In the play' Abhijana Shakuntalam' the ringwas the token of love given to Shakuntala by Dushyant.The curse was given by Durvasa rishi to Shakuntala thatshe will not be recognized by her beloved, later on thiscurse was diluted and she was recognized by Dushyant.Now this ring which was a token of love suddenly istransformed into an instrument through which Dushyantforgets and then recognizes Shakuntala later on thusfulfilling the curse of Durvasa. In short we can say that thecurse acts as an impediment to the action and the ring actsas the token of recognition to resolve the problem.
