"PYRAMUS AND THISBY"  IS THE INERT PLAY CONDUCTED WITHIN THE SHAKESPEAREAN  DRAMA "A  MIDSUMMER'S  NIGHT  DREAM"

THE ACTING AND DIRECTION OF THE INERT PLAY  FROYAYED WITHIN THE SHAKESPEAREAN DRAMA IS PATHETIC. HOWEVER THE DRAMA AND THE INERT PLAY ARE SIMILAR IN RESPECT TO THEIR THEME BEING OF LOVERS GOING TO ANY EXTENT SO THAT THEY CAN BE TOGETHER DESPITE FAMILY OPPOSITION. THE ENDING OF THIS DRAMA IS SIMILAR TO THE SHAKESPEAREAN PLAY "ROMEO AND JULIET"IN CASE OF SUICIDE OF THE LOVERS . THE DIFFERENCE BEING  THEIR IS A PERCEPTION OF PYRAMUS IS THAT THISBY  DIED OF A LION ATTACK WHILE ROMEO ASSUMES THAT JUILIET DIED POISONING. THE PURPOSE OF THIS PLAY IN THE DRAMA IS THAT IT FUNCTIONS AS A CLASSIC TALE.

ALL CHARACTERS IN THIS PLAY ARE PLAYED BY MALE PEASANTS WHO HAVE CRAFTED THIS VERY PLAY.THIS PLAY IS PERFORMED BY THE PEASANTS IN THE TRIPLE WEDDING OF THE 2 COUPLETS  OF WAYWARD LOVERS HERMIA-LYSANDER  AND HELENA-DEMETRIUS AND DUKE THESUS AND HIS BRIDE HIPPOLYTA.

PETER QUINCE, A TAILOR,  WHO PORTRAYS THE ROLE OF THE LION IN THE PLAY , IS DEJECTED AS HE DID NOT GET THE MAIN ROLE SO HE WANDERS INTO THE FOREST . LITTLE DOES HE KNOW THAT HE WOULD BECOME THE UNWITTING VICTIM IN THE HANDS OF THE FAIRY KING OBERON WHO SEEKS REVENGE ON HIS WIFE QUEEN TITIANA AS SHE REFUSES TO OBEY HIM. RESULTING WHICH PETER GETS A DONKEY HEAD. AT THE END OF THE FAIRY COUPLES, WHEN THE CURSE IS LIFTED FROM PETER. THE TERRIFIED PETER RUSHES TO THE TOWN. AFTER THAT WE SEE PETER DOING HIS PART WITHOUT GRUMBLING. IT'S AS IF THE WHOLE ORDEAL TAUGHT HIM A LESSON TO BE HAPPY WITH WHAT HE HAS.
