The main heat source of the earth is it's central core portion which contains completely melted magma with extremely high temperature.

This extreme heat is conducted into the upper layer of our planet which performs different types of geographical activities , including the tectonic movements of the crust plates of our planets.

So we can say that the earth's core is indirectly responsible for the tectonic movements of the earth's plates.

Dissipation of heat from mantle of the earth is responsible for plate tectonics.

Explanation:

  • The Earth is the only planet where the life exists.
  • The Earth’s internal structure is composed of three main layers including crust, mantle, and core.
  • Mantle present in  between the crust part and the core part. It is a layer of silicate rock.
  • It is much hotter. It plays a main role in the crust’s evolution and provides the thermal and mechanical driving factors.
  • It regulates the heat removal from the Earth’s core which in turn responsible for plate tectonics.
