Dissolution of potassium nitrate in water is endothermic. Solubility of potassium nitrate increases if the temperature of the solution is increased. The reaction in which external energy is required in the form of heat to proceed the reaction is called endothermic reaction. In a endothermic reaction heat is involved from reactent side • So, when the temperature of the solution increases according to Le- Chatelier's principle to get relief from this stress the reaction is favoured in left side. That means the dissolution of potassium nitrate in water increases.
