Distance between Kota and Jaipur is 240 km. Two persons A and B both start simultaneously from Kota to Kota to Jaipur. A travels half distance with 40 km/hr and remaining half distance with 60 km/hr. B travels with 40 km/hr for half time of journey and half time withy 60 km/hr. Find out
(i) Average speed of A and B
(ii) When and Who will reach the Jaipur first

i) Total distance 240 km

total time (T) = T1 + T2

T1 = distance/speed

= 120/ 40

= 3 hour

T2 = distance/ speed

= 120/60

= 2 hour

T = T1 + T2

= 3 + 2

= 5 hour

V(average) = 240/5

= 48 km/ hour

ii) Total distance 240 km

T/2*60 + T/2*40 = 240

T* 50 = 240

T = 240/50

T= 4.8 sec

V(average) = 240/4.8

= 50 km/hour

B will reach first.
