Answer:

Distance = total distance travelled = 5 + 5 = 10 km

Displacement = the straight line joining the starting and the end point = 0 km

\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{Given:-}}}}

Distance between Ramu's house and school is 5 km.

\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{</strong><strong>T</strong><strong>o</strong><strong> </strong><strong>find</strong><strong>:-}}}}

The distance travelled and displacement = ?

\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{</strong><strong>S</strong><strong>o</strong><strong>l</strong><strong>u</strong><strong>t</strong><strong>i</strong><strong>o</strong><strong>n</strong><strong>:-}}}}

Distance travelled by Ramu = Length of actual path travelled during home to school + school to home.

Then, Distance travelled by Ramu = 5 Km + 5 km

= 10 km.

We know that displacement is the shortest distance between final and initial position .

But Ramu come back to his initial position.

In this case his Displacement will be 0.
