SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The distance between the points

 \sf{( \cos  \alpha ,0) \:  \: and \:  \: (0, \sin  \alpha )}

EVALUATION

Here the given points are

 \sf{( \cos  \alpha ,0) \:  \: and \:  \: (0, \sin  \alpha )}

Hence the required distance

 \sf{ =  \sqrt{ {( \cos  \alpha  - 0)}^{2}   +   {(0 -  \sin  \alpha )}^{2} }}

 \sf{ =  \sqrt{ {( \cos  \alpha  )}^{2}   +   {(  \sin  \alpha )}^{2} }}

 \sf{ =  \sqrt{ { \cos}^{2}  \alpha   +   { \sin}^{2} \alpha  }}

 =  \sqrt{1}

 = 1
