Given:-

  • Distance = 240 km

  • Time = 4 hours

To Find:-

  • Speed =?

Solution :-

Using the formula of speed, where speed is equal to the division of distance and time.

⇒ Speed = Distance / Time

⇒ Speed = 240/4

⇒ Speed = 60km/hr

Now,

As we know that:-

1km = 1000m and 1hr = 3600sec.

60km/hr = 60 × 5/18m/s

= 300/18 m/s

= 16.6m/s

Therefore, speed of train is 16.6m/s .

Answer:

The speed the train took to cover the distance between two stations is 16.6m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

To Find :-

  • The speed of the train in m/s

Solution :-

Given that,

  • Distance between two stations = 240km
  • Time taken to cover = 4 hours,

ACCORDING THE QUESTION,

It is said, to find out the speed on m/s,

The distance on m is,

» 240km → 240000m . . . [ 240 × 1000 ] metres

The speed on seconds is,

» 4 hours → 14400 secs . . . [ 60 × 60 × 4 ] seconds

Now, speed on m/s

As we know that,

Speed = Distance / Time

» 240000 / 14400

» 16.6

Therefore, the speed on m/s is 16.6m/s.
