Given:

A velocity time graph

To find:

Distance covered by the body during the interval from 10 sec to 20 sec is

Solution:

We use a formula that relates the distance, time and velocity.

V = △x/t

where,

V = velocity of an object

△x = distance covered

t = time taken

From given, we have, a velocity-time graph

Distance covered by the body during the interval from 10 sec to 20 sec is given by,

at the time interval of 10 sec the velocity is 18 m/s

and at the time interval of 20 sec the velocity is 36 m/s

so, we have,

△x = V × t

△x = (36 - 18) × (20 - 10)

△x = 18 × 10

△x = 180 m

Therefore, the distance covered by the body during the interval from 10 sec to 20 sec is 180 m.
