Add point O and P as shown

Given - l (AB) = 10 cm chord

Figure - l (OP) = 12 cm distance

First we will find length of l (PB)

Therefore l (PB) = 1 / 2 x 10

= 5 cm

With the help of Pythagoras theorem

(hyp) square = (h) square + (b) square

= (12) square + (5) square

= 144 + 25

= 169

Hyp = root of 169 = 13 cm

Therefore OB = 13 cm

Diameter = 2 x r

= 26cm

Therefore diameter is 26cm
