If each vertex is connected to the midpoint of the opposite side by a straight line, then the lines intersect at the centroid of the triangle, R is the distance from the centroid to a vertex and r is the distance from the centroid to the midpoint of a side....

Centroid also has a property, that it divides the medians in 2:1 & It always lies inside the triangle. In case of equilateral triangle centroid, circumcenter, incenter, orthocenter all lie on the same point. In addition to this centroid is the point of centre of mass of any triangle...
