Distance of chord AB from the centre of a circle is 7 cm. Length of chord is 48cm. Find

the diameter of the circle .​

1 st join point A and the centre c

then,

by using pythagoras theorem ,

(hypotenuse) square =( side 1)square + (side 2) square

(AC ) square =( AB)square + (BC)square

(Ac) square = (24) square +( 7) square

(AC) square = 576 + 49

(AC) square = 625

AC = 25

radius AC = 25

Diameter = 2× radius

diameter = 2×25

diameter = 50
