Time = Same for both = x hr

Distance =

Hamid = 9 km

Akhtar = 12 km

Speed of Hamid = d/t = 9/x km/hr

Speed of Akhtar = d/t = 12/x km/h

Ratio of speed of Hamid : Akhtar = 9/x : 12/x

 \frac{9}{x}  \div  \frac{12}{x}

 \frac{9}{x}  \times  \frac{x}{12}

 \frac{3}{4}

= 3:4
