Answer:

I Inner planets are those which are small in size such as Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. Earth is the largest inner planet and Mercury is considered to be the smallest inner planet. On the other hand, outer planets are those which are huge in size, for example – Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Jupiter is known to be the largest outer planet and Neptune is the smallest outer planet.

Inner planets have solid surfaces and thin or no atmosphere, i.e. it is possible to stand on the inner planets whereas outer planets are made up of gas and have no surface which means it is not possible to stand on any of the outer planets.

Inner planets possess greater density which means the elements of the inner planets are closely packed together due to which they are small and solid. On the other hand, outer planets have smaller density because the elements are less densely packed causing them to be large and light.

The inner planets spin slowly whereas the outer planets spin quickly.

Inner planets are close to the sun because of which they rotate around the sun quickly and the outer planets are at great distance from the sun due to which they rotate slowly around the sun.

Inner planets have few moons such as Earth has one moon and Mars has two small moons only. On the other hand, outer planets have lots of moons such as Jupiter has 63 moons, Saturn has 60 moons, Uranus has 27 moons and Neptune has 13 moons orbiting.

Note:

Inner planets have multiple spacecraft visitors but outer planets has only one spacecraft visitor, i.e. Voyager 2.

The diameter of the inner planets are approximately 13000 km.

The diameter of the outer planets are about 48000 km.
