Arid soil is red to Brown in color were as laterite soil is red in colour with high content of iron oxide.

arid soil have sandy texture

the laterite soil are coarse in texture and poor in nitrogen, phosphoric acid, potash and urea.

arid soil is mostly found in Rajasthan, parts ofHaryana and Punjab and extends up to the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.

laterite soil is mostly found in theEastern Ghat of Orissa, the Southernparts of Western Ghat, MalabarCoastal plains and Ratnagiri of Maharashtra and some part of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Meghalaya, western part of WestBengal
